Hello Travel Artists Hub–
As you know we are all facing a serious crisis together around the World with the onset of the coronavirus. There is a lot of uncertainty and fear about what is happening. And I do not have any answers. Bob and I are also holed up in an apartment self-quarantined in Portugal due to my compromised immune system.
But as I sat here ping-ponging between panic and calm and panic again, feeling completely powerless, and not knowing how I could be of help right now, I remembered how in the past when I was bedridden and isolated with my illness for almost 8 years, I remembered how I got through those hard times—writing.
Art saved my life by giving me a purpose.
Now I realize that there is a way we can all rise above this fear and uncertainty together–we can dream and create.
I wasn’t sure how to proceed with our travel blog and staying active while isolated is really important and since travel is discouraged and banned at the moment and since we are all basically confined in our homes—I thought about the beauty of living in a World that now has the internet and social media means that we do it have to go through this crisis alone and can still be together and support one another virtually–what a perfect time to share more artwork, poems, music, stories and more.
But this time we need to hear and see work from you all- Travel Artists.
So, Travel Artists Hub is having an OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FROM ALL ARTISTS, WRITERS & MUSICIANS who want to share their experiences, memories, and dreams. Let’s share where we are at this moment or just celebrate life and our hopes & dreams for a better future.
Things are really heavy at the moment and we don’t want to shy away from that, so send your work with serious feels—we would like to see works where your emotions have been transformed into something creative—we need some light in these dark days. Hopefully, we can find a little bit of connection, relief, and solace through sharing our work with one another so even though we can’t go out, we can go on journeys through our imaginations.
Most of all we would like to hear from folks all around the World.
We need to rely on each other now to help one another get through this hard time together and what better way than sharing your artistic gifts.
Please check out the TAH submission guidelines and send your work and/or proposal via email to Kristin at firstname.lastname@example.org and put TAH SUBMISSION in the subject line.
So, we look forward to receiving your work and know that we love you and everyone in this entire World. And I know this will eventually pass like all bad times do, so please try to hold on tight to that hope in your heart—I am—we are.
Sending love and healing hugs,
Kristin and Bob
TAH Submission Guidelines:
We are super excited that you want to share your work on Travel Arts Hub!!!
We are looking for artwork, photography, music, videos, poems, prose, stories, photo-essays. They can be simple to experimental to ethereal as well. The journey can be anything and the idea of travel artist is just that—anything creative your wandering mind can come up with.
All works should be able to take folks on a journey, inspire them to create, give them a feeling of connection or spark them to explore their own imaginations + dreams + desires or to journey & travel or to just check out their own neighborhoods, towns, cities, countries, planets, and universes in the future. Just being alive is an amazing gift and we want to celebrate that too.
That all being said—the World is in a serious state of flux at the moment so feel free to take this project and run with it in any direction you want. We have no set format and are trying to keep things loose and we are open to any creative ideas. Most importantly we would like your page to reflect you and your work as best possible.
